Children's workshops of the FIO (Infante de Orleans Foundation) to increase children's passion for airplanes

Children's workshops of the Orleans Infant Foundation They aim to disseminate among the smallest the aeronautical culture, the passion for the world of aviation and present their history through recreational activities, crafts and of course accessing the aircraft collection. He children's workshop the FIO demonstration Sundays which is usually the first Sunday of each month except January and December. It is dedicated to the kids of between 6 and 12 years and although places are limited, you can register right there from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. In addition, each participant will receive a diploma accrediting their participation.

For now they have four workshops with great success and the places are immediately completed. The monitor and organizer Pilar Gómez-Lobo He explains that the children make their parents get up early to get a place, although as the parents are also very fond of aeronautics and many FIO members, the whole family is delighted. It is a novel project and in the workshop scheduled for March 2014 they present the workshop Why do planes fly and preference will be given in enrollment to children who have not done this activity.

We remember that the Infante de Orleans Foundation (FIO), is a collection of historical airplanes in flight whose origin dates back to 1984, when a group of fans created the Historic Aircraft Section of the José Luis Aresti Aeroclub, a section that became the FIO in 1989. In the video that illustrates the article , which is part of a documentary of greater duration, you can see images of the collection formed by 40 airplanes of 23 different models and that allow us to know 60 years of the history of aviation in Spain.

The next demonstration is the Sunday March 2, 2014 and at the moment only the static exhibition will be carried out. Almost a year ago it was decided to suppress the air show although there seems to be hope that it can be implanted again. I hope it will be soon so that we can enjoy these devices carefully and with care for the Infante de Orleans Foundation.
