13 doctors and nurses are sanctioned for accepting bribes from Danone and recommending their artificial milk

It happened in China, but this does not mean that something similar could happen here in Spain, where the strange thing would be, in fact, that situations like this were not happening, given the level of corruption that our population can reach, starting with those They are better dressed. The Tianjin authorities in the north of the country have decided sanction 13 doctors and nurses for accepting bribes from Danone S.A. in exchange for recommending to the parents of newborn babies the consumption of the brand's artificial milk.

Fact data came to light a month ago, when Chinese Central Television reported that Danone had bribed doctors and nurses from a city hospital so that recommend Dumex artificial milk.

Apparently, competition between brands is so high that commercials have to make gifts, often in the form of money, to get professionals to talk about their brand. As explained by a former employee of Dumex, who provided documents to give truth to his words, hospital plants could be divided according to the artificial milk they recommended. If a month did not offer the right amount of money next month they could be recommending another brand of milk. Come on, that came to be something like a sponsorship of the plant. Those amounts could go from 36 euros per month until 1,200 a doctor could get paid.

Following this news, the government and the Tianjin Police decided to open an investigation and we know the result now. The thirteen defendants have been sentenced to penalties ranging from the cancellation of your medical license to salary reduction.

Dumex China, for its part, explained that there is nothing to comment on it, but that they have decided to make a full investigation of the facts. What do I say that I don't know what they have to investigate, because I doubt that the 1,200 euros would come out of the commercials pocket.

Government investigators explained that the 13 defendants were part of a group of 116 people belonging to 85 hospitals and health centers that received bribes from Danone to recommend their products and give samples of the Dumex formula.

As you well know, the International Code of Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes, applicable in China, prohibits the delivery of samples by health professionals, prohibits the display of brands or products in hospitals and health centers and prohibits the promotion of artificial milk. Come on, if you're a doctor or nurse, here or in China, the most ethical thing is not marry any brand and simply say that "they all say that yours is the best", which is what I say as a nurse.
