Miximoms is a social network to help mothers in their day to day

The driver of Miximoms is Yolanda Bonilla, in the image, which began to develop the project at the end of 2011 with own funds and with a loan from ENISA (National Innovation Company) with the collaboration of three more entrepreneurs: Albert Rof, Ismael Miñano and David Torras. The official launch of Miximoms was Mother's Day, on May 5, 2013.

Miximoms It is a social network in which Mothers, brands and professionals can create their profiles and interact with each other with the common goal of helping mothers. Thus, for example, if the mother of a celiac child needs advice about his diet, he launches his query in his space I need / recommend and other mothers who are in the same situation or have already passed it, pediatricians, nutritionists, specialized brands, etc. They may contribute to answer your questions. It is intended that Miximoms facilitate the collective intelligence management generated by the experience of mothers or experts.

In Miximoms the mothers will find content of interest published by the community, they can be part of the groups that are more related to their interests (first-time, single-parent families, vegetarian mothers, etc.), buy in different stores on the Internet, collaborate in co-creation or improvement of new products and decide which social projects they want to allocate part of the income of the community.

Miximoms' new business model is based on services to brands, commissions generated by sales and co-creation of products by mothers who want to participate. And to ensure that the contents are not advertising, participants must subscribe to the Miximoms Constitution in which they declare that they are part of the community to help. Brands, NGOs and institutions can also create their profiles and communicate with mothers.

The site is aimed at mothers who have between 20 and 50 years, manage the budget and household purchases, connect to the Internet regularly and in a timely manner to some social network. They also tend to go to the Internet in search of a solution to their doubts or to manage the interaction with brands. Also in Miximoms they manage privacy preferences as a priority.

The project looks very good, it is launched with a clean page, well designed, simple to use and with the commitment to foster solidarity and support among community members. In my opinion they have a tough competitor in Google that currently continues to centralize all information search demands. In addition, obtaining critical mass is essential for brands and professionals to approach the community and generate profitable and sustainable supply and demand.

And finally, I still don't understand the objective of segmenting in such a drastic way limiting access to parents / men. It is a trend that seems to consolidate in Spain with networks that are already working and that we all know in which women seem to feel very comfortable sharing their experiences. So if you are a woman and you are reading this then maybe you should take a look at Miximoms.
