The AIRE Alliance will ensure the rights of the most vulnerable children to respiratory infections

The AIRE Alliance is born as a unified and solid working group whose mission is ensure the rights of the most vulnerable children to respiratory infections and other risks that may affect its development. It has the collaboration of the Spanish Society of Neonatology.

There are several associations that have voluntarily joined the project, including FEDER, the Association of Parents of Premature Children, the Spanish Federation of Down Syndrome, or Cystic Fibrosis. With the creation of AIR, it is revealed that There are a total of six pathologies that cause death in 70% of cases of infant mortality due to illness. The first in importance is pneumonia (18 percent of cases).

Most of these conditions are due to premature birth and low weight and, as a second cause, there are serious heart diseases

Respiratory infections in children (and especially in the most vulnerable children) should be treated accordingly, so that they do not lead to more serious problems that can affect respiratory health for months or years.

The newly created working group also intends to pursue equity in healthcare quality. To do this, one must act before the administration, but also sensitize the population.

The patients in high-risk groups (premature babies, children with congenital heart disease, children with Down syndrome, with lung, neuromuscular or immunosuppressed diseases due to some type of cancer) are those represented in this alliance. "

We realize that the AIR Alliance He was born with great purposes and lots of energy to work for the population he represents. From here we send you our congratulations and good wishes.
