Today is World Environment Day, do you celebrate it with children?

Today, June 5, World Environment Day is celebrated, a date that aims to spread the need to conserve and improve our environment and that is celebrated in many parts of the world with different activities.

Of course, children are protagonists of this day, and both today and next weekend we will have children's activities in zoos, schools, libraries ... But do you celebrate it in any way with your children?

We can check our local agenda to see if something special is done, but we can also celebrate this day in a simple way with our children: drawing, telling a story, taking care of the plants, going out to the park, looking for birds or insects, recycling, doing a small bike tour, not wasting food ...

And also talking with them. Because being close to children, explaining the importance of the environment so that they can understand it, they will be more aware that they also have much to say about the future of our surroundings. They will see the care of nature as normal.

Since 1972 the UN General Assembly appointed June 5 World Environment Day after the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) was created, so that we all understand the importance of protecting and conserving it.

World Environment Day has the theme this year "Think. Feed. Save", a campaign to reduce waste and food losses. According to FAO, 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted every year. This figure is equivalent to food production throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. It is important that each family at the individual level do their best not to waste food.

It is clear that our rhythm of life sometimes detracts time for important things (or makes us downplay certain issues), but adapting to the time we will spend with them today or the next few days, maybe the weekend Wouldn't it be nice to enjoy some time in nature? I think it's worth talking about all this with the children ...

We take this day to remind you of our decalogue for children who care for the environment, it is important to share with them one way or another of respect for our environment if we want many future generations to enjoy it, and World Environment Day It is a good opportunity to try.
