The 72nd edition of the Madrid Book Fair 2013 starts

Tomorrow, Friday, May 31, the 72nd edition of the Madrid Book Fair. It is a spectacular date for reading fans and especially it is very fun for children who can meet many writers (some of them specialized in children's books), other readers with whom they share the good habit of reading and especially the novelties and the classic books that care, pamper and put up for sale the editorials in the typical booths.

This year 2013 the Book Fair is held from May 31 to June 16, 2013 at El Retiro Park. The schedule is from Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. While the schedule for Saturdays, Sundays and holidays will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It surprises me that it closes at noon, although I imagine it will be because it seeks, in addition to rest, the pull of the authors who sign their works at practically all the hours in which the Fair is open. In addition to the typical booths there are children's spaces, specifically, the Children's Pavilion which in 2013 is called Libraries open to the future, and it is a space in which libraries and reading are main protagonists. There is a complete program of activities sponsored by publishers, specifically for children and can be downloaded from the Book Fair page.

The 72nd edition of the Madrid Book Fair is attended by 457 exhibitors, 9 distributors, 61 specialized booksellers, 59 general booksellers, 195 publishers in Madrid and 113 publishers outside Madrid. All will be located in 353 booths. The Fair is organized by the Madrid Bookshop Guild, Madrid Publishers Association, Federation of National Associations of Distributors of Editions (FANDE).

The Fair has the sponsorship of the Madrid City Council, the Community of Madrid and Banco Sabadell and it is carried out in the Walk of the Duke of Fernán Núñez in the Gardens of Buen Retiro. It has many accesses in public transport as metro: Prince of Vergara stations (Lines 2 and 9) and Retiro (L2) or Ibiza (L9) and bus: lines 2, 19, 20, 26, 28, 61, 63, 146 and C1 / C2. There is also a commuter train with the Recoletos and Atocha stations. And there are spaces for him private transport especially in the parking lots of Velázquez street and Montalbán street as well as streets near the Retiro.

I especially recommend attend a signature with the children with an author, of any type of work (children, youth, adults, etc.), and participate in his company, his brief talk, his attention and especially his dedication in the book, which of course will have to be purchased although it can be preserved for a long time.
