The activities of the Llumiq club in the Archaeological Museum of Alicante: taking advantage of Easter holidays

The Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ) is a meeting place for fans of Archeology and History, which has also become a national reference due to the quality of its exhibitions (permanent and temporary).

It is a place where you will always find other families that walk between rooms with showcases and curious assemblies that keep the children's attention. Not long ago we were in the capital of Alicante, and although our stay at the MARQ was brief, my children loved it, the oldest commented that I had never seen such a large museum! Next week, in addition to enjoying their own activities, children can enjoy proposals designed just for them. And this is because the Llumiq Club has organized stories and workshops related to the different exhibitions of the museum, and are aimed at children from five to 12 years old. As in the Valencian Community Easter holidays last until Monday of St. Vincent (April 8), there are few entities that program thinking about children.

The Club brings the Museum to children in a dynamic and fun way, and also constitutes a contact platform for MARQ members. They usually encourage competitions, encourage university students to participate in excavations, and organize family activities for designated dates. The activities I present today are free, and are specified in:

  • Storytelling, every day from April two to five from 11 am.

  • Workshops (in two age groups), every day from April two to five from 12 noon. The themes chosen are Prehistory, Iberians, Romans and the Middle Ages.

All workshop students will participate in a contest. The winners of the different categories will be presented with articles from the Llumiq Club and the books Torres en la Costa and Torres en el Interior

And when the kids have school vacations, we have to refine the ingenuity in order to entertain them properly, but ultimately we all win: we spend more time with them and learn.
