Ingredients for 16 cookies

  • For the dough: 350 grams of pastry flour, 50 grams of pure cocoa powder, 1 pinch of salt, 125 grams of icing sugar, 200 grams of butter in an ointment, 1 M egg, vanilla powder.

How to make chocolate reindeer cookies

Beat the butter with the sugar until you get a soft cream. Add the egg and vanilla and continue beating until everything is integrated. Little by little we pour the sifted flour with the cocoa and the pinch of salt and mix until it forms a dough. The dough should be like plasticine, a little softer.

We divide the dough into two parts, flatten it a little, wrap in transparent film and refrigerate for at least two hours, until it hardens. Preheat the oven to 180º with heat up and down. We place the dough on a sheet of baking paper, cover with another sheet so that it does not adhere to the roller, and stretch it with a thickness of one centimeter.

We cut circular portions with the help of a round pasta cutter or a glass simply. We place very carefully, so that they do not deform, the cookies on a non-stick baking sheet or on a greased plate or lined with baking paper.

We bake the cookies for about 12 minutes, we took them out, let stand on the tray five minutes and we pass them to a rack until they are completely cold to decorate them. To decorate them, we will melt the chocolate in the water bath or in the microwave very carefully since the white chocolate is more delicate, we put it in a pastry bag with a fine nozzle and we mark several chocolate dots on each cookie.
