Changes in the hair of the pregnant woman

During pregnancy, the action of hormones produces alterations in the woman's body, and is not an exception that also affects the hair, producing changes in the hair of the pregnant.

Placental hormones cause an increase in sebaceous secretion of the scalp, so the changes affect the type of woman's hair before becoming pregnant: dry, normal or oily.

As with nails in pregnancy, there is no rule for all women. While in some the hair grows stronger and brighter than ever and they look great during pregnancy, others become brittle and weak.

In women with dry hair, the increase in sebaceous secretion is phenomenal, improving the appearance of your hair, making it strong, with vitality and shine.

Women with normal hair they should not neglect it, since the same can become dry or fatty, depending on how they affect the hormones. It is often necessary to wash it with frequently used shampoo to control sebaceous secretion and hydrate it with conditioners and masks to prevent it from drying out.

In case of having previously greasy hair, your hair in pregnancy should receive special care. The increase in grease will make you have to wash your hair more frequently, so choose very mild shampoos with neutral Ph and conditioners specific to your hair type as otherwise they could grease it more.

Almost all of us have experienced hair changes during pregnancy. I have dry hair, so fortunately in my case the change was for the best, although the worst came after delivery with hair loss. Has your hair appearance changed during pregnancy?
