New Dodot "iPañal" diapers: we've tried them

One of the novelties related to the world of babies that is having more relevance today is the appearance, a few weeks ago, of the iPañal diapers.

The iPañal is a novelty of the brand Dodot, whose products are known to everyone, so much so that there was a time when diapers were called Dodotis, in the same way that cocoa cream is called (ba) Nocilla.

These are thinner diapers than usual, according to Dodot, they are faster absorbing the pee, making the baby is always practically dry. However, when assessing them we can see that they have some positive points and others that are not so good. On the internet there are many people who offer their opinion about iPañal and that is why we also want to give our opinion and at the same time know yours (I already tell you that I personally liked the Activity before).

IPañal advantages

  • Is thin and light: For those of us who carry some diapers in the bag it is wonderful to have thinner diapers that take up less space. It is also appreciated when saving them as there is now more free space.
  • They are more comfortable for babies and children: Being thinner they are more comfortable. They can walk with less separated English, since some diapers, because of their thickness and size, make children less free to move. In general it seems that children are less bothered (at least I notice that with my son).
  • He absorption level is high: Although they are thinner than other models, the iPañal It swells considerably as it retains fluids and gives the feeling that nothing has changed with respect to the previous range of Activity diapers.

IPañal Involvement

  • Is more rigid than the previous Activity: A side effect of the thinness of the iPañal is that it is less "padded" and something more similar to a compress. That makes it somewhat less malleable and causes it to be a little more "stiff" (say that the fold it brings from home, being the diaper so thin, is almost permanent), being more important to adjust them well to the baby's body, or otherwise it will increase the risk of leaks.
  • Leaks with liquid poop: My son doesn't make liquid poop, so I can't quantify leaks. There was only one day when he did it more liquidilla and that day the poop escaped from the sides as it had not been for a long time. The reason will probably be what was mentioned in the previous point (it is more difficult to position it properly).
  • Higher external humidity: One of the things that I have noticed and that other mothers who use these diapers have also commented is that it gives the feeling that the iPañal It produces more moisture on the outside of the diaper. When they are more full of pee, you can feel moisture in the frog or body, something that did not happen before with the previous range. This suggests that in the same way that there is more outside humidity, there could be more indoor humidity (in fact some children have, with these diapers, the ass more stingy than before).
  • Replaces the previous Activity: The range of Dodot Activity diapers has always been life insurance. An essential resource for those babies and active children (or not so much) whose peeps and poops used to end up in the body or the frog. Now these have been replaced by the iPañal and parents have been forced to use them without having an option to choose.
  • They don't neutralize the smell of pee so much: It is not that it is something too exaggerated and it may be a subjective sensation, but it seems that the previous Activity controlled the smell of children's pee somewhat better
  • Is thin and light: Yes, I was not wrong. Being thin and light is one of the advantages of iPañal but, at the same time, it is inconvenient. The more comfortable the diapers for the children, the less they want to take them off.. It is not that there is an excessive rush to get the children to leave them, we have already commented on several occasions that each child has his rhythm and that he must be respected, but when it is more annoying they are the ones who want to remove them.

Conclusions

Dodot He has managed to make a thinner and more comfortable diaper that comes with the promise of maximum absorption so that babies are always dry. Many parents have not noticed a difference with respect to the previous range of Activity, but many others have noticed it and we have observed that in addition to losing thickness, the iPañal It also loses some characteristics that made the previous ones an authentic anti-leakage insurance that you could put almost with your eyes closed knowing that there would be no problems. Now it is more rigid and seems to absorb something less so, personally, if I had to choose, I would prefer to continue with the previous Activity range.
