Santo awaits justice: press conference of his parents

Holy He died at birth due to alleged medical negligence. Santo was born and died on February 25, 2005, at the Hospital Universitario de Canarias hospital. I remember it as if it were today. His parents, Lucy and Humberto, denounced the facts then and are still waiting for a resolution of the case. Today have given a press conference explaining that they are still waiting for justice , to make known your case and the delay you are suffering.

His parents had so much love to give him ... and although this song does not refer to this I always think it for them.

I have told you about him already and you can read the story of his birth, told by his mother, on the page of the Association El Parto es Nuestro.

Santo's parents filed a complaint of responsibility against the Canary Health Service but the case does not proceed. Although there is, as explained in a press conference, a report that is still in the Canary Islands Advisory Council, the delay in the resolution does not allow progress in this case of alleged negligence, despite having new evidence related to failures in care during the delivery.

As they explain, the death of the little Saint could be due to a confusion in the mother's medication during childbirth. In addition, the treatment they received at that time and in the subsequent ones, both for refusing to see their son and for many comments of a devastating lack of humanity, meant for them an added pain to the infinite despair of losing a child who arrived at the healthy birth and fear, with many arguments, that he left for a medical mistake.

Lucy, always admirable with her strength and her tenacity, now serves as an accompaniment to the families that lose a child through Forever in the Heart, a support group of the El Parto Association is Ours.

In addition, its objective is that hospitals enable protocols that make professionals know how to properly treat people who lose a child in childbirth, attending to their emotional needs in the face of a loss of this magnitude.

His second son, Humberto, was born happy and healthy at home, because going to the hospital was scary, both for what happened in the birth of Saint, and for the inconceivable lack of a minimum sensitivity with which they feel they were treated.

I hope that the arrival to the media, through the Press conference given today by Lucy and Humberto, who must have been very painful, serve so that soon Holy stop waiting for justice and your case receives the attention it deserves. I will always carry you in the heart, Holy.
