A different story about the three little pigs

One of the most enriching and tender experiences is reading stories to our children. The three Little Pigs, is one of the usual folk tales. This story, in its traditional version, is a fable from which it is extracted as a moral that effort always gets rewarded. However, for younger and sensitive children, it may be inappropriate: violence, deaths, cruelty.

But as good literature is reinvented, the versions sometimes enrich the original story. In the case of The Three Little Pigs, I have found a wonderful version, written by David Wiesner, full of fantasy, and with an authentic philosophical background that speaks of the possible alternative realities on which the most advanced science speculates today. The wolf blows and blows. But it blows so hard that it not only knocks down the house, but throws the first little pig to another plane of reality, to a world where the characters enter and leave the stories, help each other in solidarity and escape from the wicked through the impossible .

The texts are brief, and appear both in the main story and in the stories in which the pigs come and go. And the illustrations are beautiful, allowing children and adults to be amazed at the incredible possibilities offered by the imagination and at the same time, reflect on whether what our eyes see is the only thing that exists.
