Success of the campaign "A toy, an illusion"

We congratulate the greatest success achieved in its 8 years of campaign history 'A toy, an illusion' (organized by Radio Nacional de España and the Crecer Jugando Foundation) which has closed this edition with a collection of 3,208,476 euros, thanks to which you can send 440,000 toys for children from 22 countries.

In this edition they have surpassed the three million euros of collection, thanks for sale of the solidarity pen (of which we have informed you last Christmas) and donations from companies, institutions and individuals, and the number of countries receiving toys is the highest since the initiative was launched: Latin America, Africa and, for the first time, Asia.

With this collection, in the coming months they will be manufactured the toys agreed with each of the 234 NGOs collaborators, appropriate to the destination areas, projects and children's ages.

Toys will be distributed for individual use of children and also others for collective use which will be used to launch toy libraries or common play spaces.

When I see my son's room full of toys (and practically none of them have been bought by our parents) asked me how many villages could play with them alone.

I applaud the initiative and the success of this solidarity campaign, but on the other hand, in the West we should seriously reflect on our excessive consumption towards children and replace it with something more valuable that many poorer parents have and not us: TIME.
