The new parents: men engaged in parenting

A few days ago we commented on the results of a survey that revealed something that is evident. Than men are increasingly involved in the care and education of children.

Those times have passed when the parents did not know what it was like to feed their children, or by chance they bathed the baby, much less changed a diaper.

Increasingly, men are engaging in the task of being fathers. Although they are poorly valued. They do not have the recognition of society, or other men, or other women.

It is the conclusion reached by a study of the Andalusian School of Public Health entitled 'Involvement of the father in child rearing' which ensures that a new man-father model is emerging within society that breaks with the traditional archetype.

It is a new group of parents who, although still a minority, are largely involved in raising their children. They attend prenatal classes, are present in childbirth, assume their role at the time of childcare and play with children.

But (there is always a but) the balance is still far from equalizing. The woman is still the one who takes the initiative regarding the raising of children.

Let's say the woman is still the one who directs and the man who executes the directives.

That, yes (and here comes the pull of ears for us). Women want men to do, but to do it our way. We want to control everything.

Either way, welcome is the new model of a committed parent. We promise to give them greater social recognition and fewer orders.
