Children who grow up in a caring environment have more stable relationships in their adult lives

There has been much talk about how the first years of children's lives are what define many aspects of their adult life. Several studies have analyzed the importance of the environment in the development of the baby, and how the environment around them may or may not affect them in the future.

Now, a study conducted in two parts, with 78 years of separation between each one, found that the environment in which children grow, influences the quality of their emotional relationships In your adult life.

Published in the magazine Psychological Science, the study, which focused solely on men, found that those who during their childhood grew up in a caring, understanding and welcoming environment, they had stronger relationships and managed their emotions better.

Through the collection of information of 81 men during their adolescence, and later during the decades of their 80s and 90s, this study sought to verify the existing hypothesis that the affectionate relationship between parents and children could predict a higher level of security in terms of attachment with their partner in adult life.

The results found that there was indeed a positive relationship between growing up in a more welcoming environment during childhood and greater security of attachment to their partners more than 60 years later.
