And it was to be expected, because the beauty of its history, the message that transmits and his incredible song "Remember Me", make him deserve this important award.

"Coco" has captivated critics and audiences. In Mexico alone, it has been the highest grossing film in history, also triumphing in other countries, and for the moment it has raised 740 million dollars. This film, with death as a thread, is an essential film for our children and now shines with gold letters in the firmament of animated films.

Oscar 2018 for best animated film

Miguel Rivera is the protagonist of this story, a 12-year-old Mexican boy who dreams of becoming a musician, breaking his family's professional tradition and following in the wake of his idol. But the little one will not have it easy and the struggle to achieve his dream will lead him to live various adventures in the parallel world of the Land of the Dead.

The message that the film transmits, from beginning to end, is really moving: on the one hand the importance of the family and its legacy, as well as the indelible memory and homage to those who are no longer among us. On the other hand, it stands out the struggle to achieve a dream and for being faithful to what is desired no matter what others think.

And all this with Mexico, its culture and the Day of the Dead as a backdrop.

Although a priori it might seem strange to deal with the theme of death in a children's animation film, the truth is that Coco is a burst of color and a wonderful love letter That leaves no one indifferent.

"Remember me", Oscar 2018 for the best original song

But besides the Oscar for the best film, Coco has also collected the Oscar for best song for "Remember me" (Remember me), an emotional composition that leads us to remember the people we love most, even though they are no longer among us.

The lyrics of the song are stuck in the soul with great emotion, and it is impossible not to think about those who no longer physically accompany us, remember their company, the moments lived by their side and the joys we share together.

And this is how little Alex felt, a four-year-old boy who just starred in a video that has been around the world just two months ago, in which his deceased little sister was seen singing this song.

The theme was written by Kristen Anderson Lopez and Robert López, who won an Oscar for the song from the Frozen movie by Walt Disney.

During the Oscar gala celebration, "Remember me" was performed live by Gael García Bernal and Natalia Lafourcade, and by the Mexican-born American singer Miguel.

For the Latin American version, is the Mexican singer Carlos Rivera who interprets the song, accompanied by mariachi music.

Coco is a masterful movie. Emotional, colorful, at times very fun and really wonderful to enjoy as a family. If you haven't seen it yet, you can't miss it. It will reach your heart.
