See your mother for the first time (and not want to stop doing it)

The images of children who listen or see their mother for the first time thanks to technology. It is the first moment in which they appreciate his voice, his eyes, his smile, his gestures ... and, of course, they don't want to stop seeing Mom.

This is the case of Christopher Ward, a 12-year-old boy who, thanks to special electronic glasses, has been able to see clearly. And not just his mom. With them I could learn better at school, I could watch their favorite shows ... and ultimately I would have a much easier life than usual, with a visual field below 20º.

In school, for example, where you need special support and there are classes that you cannot do with your classmates, something that could change if you continued to use these glasses, so as to improve your integration and learning. Surely you would also have more chances to play freely and without risks with other children, play more sports ... So why do you have to be deprived of all this?

The problem is that the electronic glasses that Christopher has tried, traveling from Virginia to Washington (United States), correspond to a new portable technology called eSight and are not covered by your insurance. They cost $ 15,000, so the mother is campaigning, spreading the story of her son and the media have echoed the happy they both were when the child made use of those glasses.

Of course, the boy found his mother "very pretty" at that emotional moment. Ward was born with optic nerve hypoplasia, that is, his optic nerve never fully developed before birth. The child in the left eye can only perceive the light a little and has very low vision in his right eye. He writes and reads in braille code, and can barely watch television, he has to "get on top" to distinguish something.

Of course, it is a pity that after having enjoyed an improved vision you have to return to the "darkness". I understand the emotion of the mother before her son seeing for the first time and I understand how hard the situation should be for both. I wish Christopher can continue to see mom and the rest of the world as soon as possible and he keeps showing that big smile.
