How to work with our children so that "fashion" does not affect their health

As mothers and fathers there are many things that concern us since we are, some of them have already worried us before but the ones that squeeze our hearts the most come from the hand of our childrenWhen your knuckles were holes in your little hands, didn't you realize that?

There are things that concern us but we cannot do anything to avoid them and others do, in others we can intervene precisely to stop worrying. We can change them.

Today I come to tell you about that. One of those concerns is the health of my children and if that health is going to be conditioned by “fashion” it seems to me that the time has come to get even more serious With this topic, don't you think?

A few days ago you could watch the video of Zuzanna Buchwald circulating through the networks. In him he told his experience when he started working as a model and they demanded to lose even more weight, to lose muscle mass, that this languid and angry aspect that some models have was not a pose but a general state of their body, I lost health in one word. And she did it.

And in doing so she began to lose her hair, her period disappeared for three years and her skin dried, she was always tired and cold and did not feel like laughing. While obeying others, she stopped feeling beautiful, being healthy and being happy.

Because when you're a few years old, it's very complicated not to get carried away by the pressure, the tide, what others say is right or wrong, so you think or think about your environment, the near and the least close. Because when you are young you give power to you to people who you should not give even the time, but this is something you only learn over the years. And I'm worried, of course I'm worried that boys and girls feel that pressure to be physically what they can't be. Not everyone measures the same, we weigh the same, we have the same foot size, straight hair or green eyes. We cannot get uniform or allow them to make us uniform.

Here she tells it, obviously with tears in her eyes because it is not fair or sensible, nor should it be legal for a person to be treated like that.

It is also true that no, everything is not lost, much less, and days later it was another Iskra Lawrence model that came out of that absolutely unjustified media pressure, free and overloaded with disrespect and bad education.

Go ahead that the denomination of “Plus size model” I think it's a pretty stupid label, but ... that's what it is!

Iskra is very clear that her life, her body and especially her health are well above the dictates of fashion and that she will not endure insults from anyone because she does not have the body or the measures that someone has decided she would have to to have.

And that is what I want.

I want boys and girls free of those dogmas of faith that force them to look in the mirror but not to see their bodies but what they say "fashions" and that if they don't find it there they look for it anyway and wherever, throwing up in the garbage can or fighting with the food until it falls off the plate so as not to put it in their mouths.

I do not want them to think that they are not worth anything if their body is not slender enough or their hair dense enough because that is not really important for their lives, for their happiness. What matters is the background, as they are on the inside and not as they have to be seen on the outside, whoever says so.

I refuse to allow that concern to settle in their lives as what it is a parasite that eats their self-esteem, self-esteem and ultimately their health. We will have to continue working with them, with our sons and daughters to not allow it and for that we will have to change behaviors and re-emphasize what really has it that is not precisely the "sickly" and extremely thin aspect but quite the opposite, what matters is health and that that makes us and makes them happy, don't you think?
