CyberCamp 2014 invites families to learn about Internet security

The following days December 5, 6 and 7 2014 is celebrated in the Multipurpose Pavilion I of the Casa de Campo de Madrid CyberCamp 2014 in which there will be activities, conferences and workshops and many of them will focus on families. And it is that not only young students or cybersecurity specialists will attend CyberCamp but also families and their children can get to know the development hackathon or the technical workshops and the complete free program for parents and children.

Among the programs dedicated to families there will be activities not only to raise awareness about the safe use of new technologies or to raise awareness about the different risks and threats that exist on the Internet, but also aimed at awaken the restlessness of the youngest. And it is that children and adolescents can also attend to show their passion for technology, develop their skills and competencies and know the Cybersecurity challenges.

The event is the responsibility of the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), an entity under the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism (MINETUR) whose main objectives are raise awareness among the youngest and families With respect to safe use of new technologies and raise awareness of the different risks and threats that exist on the Internet.

For example, we will talk about what happens with the Photographs and the data that hang on social networks, what is the cyber bullying childish, how can you protect the little ones when to access the Internet and many more topics of interest in addition to the following workshops:

  • Workshop on child cyberbullying prevention
  • Awareness workshop on the dangers of the Internet
  • Internet uses and abuse workshop
  • Cryptography workshop for children
  • Parental Control Workshop
  • Workshop for the safe use of social networks

For now I have already signed up and I will try to attend one of the workshops for families to learn about the main concerns and, above all, the best way to solve them.
