A child dies in the car after staying inside at high temperatures

Days ago it happened and I was not sure whether to write about it or not, because talking about the death of a child is never pleasant, but you always feel the responsibility of publishing the information so that other parents take it into account. After two days ago the details of another case that happened in October in the US were known, I thought so, that many parents do not seem to be aware of the danger and that this information should be transmitted.

It happened in Kyneton, a city 90 km from Melbourne, in Australia, where a 22 month old boy was found inside a car, at high temperatures, unconscious. The emergency services came as soon as they could, broke the windows of the vehicle and took it out to try to save his life. It was not possible and the boy died.

According to the information, the boy was found at noon, when the outside temperature was 31 ° C. The car was parked on the sidewalk, in front of a house, apparently far from its own. In fact, that house works as a small nursery, where a family takes care of several children in the area.

It was a family member who saw him inside and alerted the authorities. As they calculate, the interior of the car was at about 60 degrees of temperature when the boy was taken out of his seat.

The police began the investigation, because it is not known who left the child in the car, why, or for how long, but basically this is the least. A child can never remain alone in a car and less if the outside temperature is high. This, apparently, is not very clear there in Australia, where in January the emergency service received About 200 calls advising children locked in their cars.

Worst of all, an information campaign was held last year to try to raise public awareness of the danger a child is in a car. After this campaign, and seeing that they have not just achieved the desired results, they have thought to increase the penalties in case they find children alone in their cars again, with fines of up to 3,700 dollars and jail sentences of between 3 and 6 months

What happens when a child stays inside a car?

It doesn't take much time. A matter of minutes The car is turned off, the air conditioning is turned off and the temperature begins to rise to the point of being unbearable. Unbearable for a child, who have worse temperature regulation than we, adults. More than a year ago Eva shared a video corresponding to a campaign carried out in the US with the intention of raising public awareness. I leave you below because he tells in just 7 minutes what a baby can suffer from the neglect of his parents:
